Black Data Processing Associates Offers Training, Performs Community Service. Black Data Processing Associates (BDPA) is a nonprofit professional association founded in Philadelphia in 1975, which has grown to more than 2,000 members in over 40 chapters spanning 35 states. The New York chapter was chartered in 1983 and is now the third largest, with over 150 members.

BDPA Richmond Gets Grant for Student Training. The Richmond, Va., chapter of Black Data Processing Associates (BDPA) has been awarded a $15,000 cash grant by The Community Foundation Serving Richmond and Central Virginia, to help support the BDPA Richmond's successful High School Computer Competition program. The money will be used to send 40 Richmond-area students in grades nine through 12 to a national computer skills competition at the 2003 National BDPA Conference, which will be held in Philadelphia this August.Read the rest of this BlackEngineer.com story here.
