SU’s Kahlil Reynolds Wins Scholarship, Internship from National Group. Southern University's Kahlil Reynolds is among six students nationwide to receive a scholarship of up to $10,000 and an internship from the National Naval Officers Association (NNOA).
Reynolds received the Spring 2014 National Black Data Processing Associates (BDPA) Student Member NNOA Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Scholarship with the Naval Research Enterprise Internship Program.
Reynolds, a member of BDPA Baton Rouge chapter, is one of three BDPA student members nationally selected as NNOA Scholars. Each student receives up to $10,000, including paid internships with the Department of the Navy this summer.

BDPA HSCC Scholarship Fund. Future workers will have to be technology-savvy before entering the workforce. Yet, for many schools there is the digital divide. This divide is caused by the pre-existing socioeconomic divide in this country coupled with the cost of acquiring and maintain new technologies. In addressing the digital divide in schools grants such as the Technology Innovation Challenge Grants and Technology Literacy Challenge Grants were created and the government, private business and non-profit organizations made strides towards to ensure equal education. One of many organization in the Baton Rouge area that recognizes this is the BDPA Education and Technology Foundation. This group has been in existence since 1992 and has worked to provide community youth with educational programs to guide them down a path of success in a technology career.

First Annual BDPA IT-ology Scholarship Winner Announced. Congratulations to Jerron Jamerson, the winner of the first annual BDPA IT-oLogy scholarship. IT-oLogy is the new program of the Consortium for Enterprise Systems Management, a 501 (c)(3) organization formed in 2009 as a collaborative effort between IT companies and educational institutions to advance IT talent from the classroom to the boardroom. Jamerson was selected based on the quality of his application, essay and letters of recommendation. In his essay, Jerron wrote, “Continuous advances in computer science have helped to make business processes more efficient and technology more cost effective for consumers, while computer applications become more and more user-friendly.” Jamerson is a senior at Phillip O’Berry Academy in Charlotte, North Carolina and plans to study Computer Science at South Carolina State University.

Consortium for Enterprise Systems Management Scholarship $2,000 for STEM-related degree in the Carolinas. BDPA Education and Technology Foundation (BETF) and the Consortium for Enterprise Systems Management (CESM) are proud to announce the first annual CESM Scholarship for BDPA Students. One rising high school senior will be awarded a $2,000 scholarship to pursue a college degree focused on information technology.

Consortium for Enterprise Systems Management, 8/6/2010
Consortium announces scholarship for student members of the BDPA. The Consortium for Enterprise Systems Management is offering a scholarship for students members of the Black Developers Processing Associates. Applicants must excel academically, show exceptional leadership potential and make an impact on their communities through service to others. Applicants need to be from South Carolina or North Carolina or attend a college in either of these two states.
