BDPA Stresses Access at National Conference. National Black Data Processing Associates (BDPA) returned to its Philadelphia roots in late July for its thirty-second annual national conference. The society was founded in Philadelphia, PA in 1975, and had its first national conference in 1979 in Washington, DC. This is the sixth conference since then held in Philadelphia, the "city of brotherly love and sisterly affection," which also offers convenient access to eastern U.S. IT venues.

Top Navy Officer Speaks at Black Data Processors Association Conference. Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) Adm. Gary Roughead was the keynote speaker at the 32nd Annual Black Data Processors Association (BDPA) Conference July 31. At the awards gala, the Navy was awarded the Epsilon award for best company with growing diversity. The National BDPA President, Yvette Graham praised the efforts of companies around the nation for their contributions towards developing and sustaining a successful work environment in the information technology field and the involvement with young people for the future.

BDPA Installs New Officers. Black Data Processing Associates (BDPA) installed new national officers in early January. Yvette Graham, who works at Allstate as director of the project development and operations organization for the claims department, is the group’s new national president. Monique Berry, an IT pro at Vanguard Group, is the new national president elect and VP of business management. Charles Moore of Wachovia is the new VP of finance. Founder Earl Pace and executive director Dr Donald French remain on the board.

Premier Organization for African Americans in IT, The National Black Data Processing Associates (NBDPA) is pleased to announce the incoming administration led by President Yvette Graham of Chicago IL. With a new dawn brings a new vision. The BDPA Chapters can soon anticipate an internal targeted message campaign as well as learning of Yvette Graham’s strategic development plan which entails 3 key areas of internal focus: Operation Cleanup, Organization Transformation and Value Proposition.
